Lupita Nyong'o hits it out of the park with sexy cut-out tweed midi-dress as she takes proud mom Dorothy as her date to Women In Film Pre-Oscar Party

She's the It girl of this awards season, but at heart, Lupita Nyong'o is still just a regular mommy's girl.
The stunning star took her proud mom Dorothy of her date to the 5th Annual Women In Film Pre-Oscar Cocktail Party held at Fig & Olive in West Hollywood on Friday night.
The 30-year-old showed off her impeccable style in a fun strapless grey tweed midi-dress featuring
a triangle cut-out design on the stomach and slit up the front of the skirt.

No, no, the pleasure's all mine: It was hard to tell who was more enamoured with whom when actresses Lupita and Helen enjoyed a meet and greet on the carpet upon arrival

Her mom looked equally lovely in her orange, black and white patterned frock, which she paired with black pointy heels.
The proud parent couldn't wipe the beaming smile from her face as she held her daughter's hand to walk the black carpet.
Inside the event, the Oscar-nominee took to the makeshift stage to make a toast alongside June Squibb, Crash producer Cathy Schulman and Dame Helen Mirren.
Inseparable: The star enjoyed a quiet moment with her best friend, Ben Kahn, slipping on a matching tweed blazer as they cosied up on a couch
