Little Mix break down in tears as they describe harrowing trip to Liberia in emotional video following performance of Word Up during Sport Relief 2014

Girl group Little Mix dissolved into tears in an emotional video showing them paying a trip to a children’s hospital in Liberia, Africa.
The harrowing clip was aired following their performance of charity single Word Up during Sport Relief 2014 Live from the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on Friday evening.
In the emotional video they meet Anthony, four, who has malaria, and after being told by a doctor that for every ten children he sees, you 'lose three or four', it all becomes too much for Perrie Edwards who is seen wiping away her tears.

Discussing what she has just seen, she says: ‘I think, more than anything, it's frustrating for me to be honest, because we're coming here and as much as we take things for granted, they can be given a mosquito net and it's done.
‘There's no reason for them to be ill. There's no reason for them to be dying, losing three out of 10 kids or whatever it is, there's no reason for that, that's why it's frustrating. Because it's £5 for a net.’
Leigh-Anne added: ‘Nothing can prepare you for what you're going to see.’

Jade is heard saying that there were 'sick kids everywhere' they looked, with problems that could have easily been prevented.
Speaking previously about the trip Jesy said: It’s probably been the best experience of my life. It’s very humbling, it’s very grounding, especially for us four girls who are in this bubble constantly.'
'It’s not really a real world to us and then you come to places like this and you see how lucky we are and how awful it is for these children.’

The group helped kick off the evening’s festivities with a performance of their charity single Word Up, which was a hit for Cameo in the 1980s.
As per usual the girls looked stunning on stage wearing monochrome outfits.
Both Jade and Leigh-Anne flashed their midriffs, as a group of dancers in Sport Relief vests join them on stage.
Word Up is available to purchase now. Please call 03457 910 910 to donate.
