And now it seems family time has been a great healer since Paris Jackson was seen getting back to normal life as she supported brother Blanket at a karate class in Calabasas on Saturday.
The 15-year-old daughter of Michael Jackson, who has been lying low at grandmother Katherine Jackson's home in California, picked her brother up after his session before heading off to Topanga Mall for some retail therapy.

The family had planned New Year's Eve bash in Malibu but it is not known if the teen was able to attend.
She did post an Instagram wishing everyone a happy New Year.

E! News reported that sources said she was released from the specialty boarding school for the Christmas break to join her family - including brothers Prince and Blanket - on vacation in Hawaii.
An Instagram photo posted by the late Michael Jackson's daughter revealed that her biological mother Debbie Rowe also joined the family trip.
In a photo simply captioned 'Momma : )', Paris is shown smiling sweetly as she sits close to Debbie Rowe, who also appears to be calm and happy.

Paris has been a resident of a $14,000 per month therapeutic private school in Utah following her reported June suicide attempt.
The academy is a secluded center for teenagers that specialises in depression and grief management like Paris who has been struggling since her father's death in 2009.

At the beginning of January, the teen marked her return on Instagram saying: 'I'm back b***hessss'.
However, according to E! the stay was brief as her family feared she wouldnlt return to the school for troubled teens.
'The family doesn't want Paris to spend her entire winter break at home because they don't want her getting comfortable,' the report said.
'The family thinks Paris will try to talk her way into staying home after showing the family she's gotten better.'
