Young people in Akure, Ondo State took to the street to protest
cancelation of their annual festival by Governor Olusegun Mimiko over
what they described as flimsy excuses by the governor.
The rioting started after heavily armed anti-riot police chased the
youth from two venues where they had converged for the carnival.
