She said her lost his life in a fatal motor accident when he rammed into a Mack Truck parked along a fast lane in Uyo, Akwa State, with his Honda SUV car.
Awoni said that instead of the FRSC to take responsibility for her husband's death, the corps alleged that the accident occurred because her husband was drunk.
She accused the FRSC of always giving excuses to cover their negligence, which had led to the death of her husband and many others on the highway.
"It is unfortunate that the people who are supposed to be responsible for the safety of everybody are the ones who are trying to use this avenue to show their irresponsibility which has led to the death of many people on the highways" she said. "My husband just went out to eat something that evening when he ran into that truck. Before the incident happened a good Samaritan had called the FRSC officials to alert them of the danger posed by the truck parked in the middle of the fast lane".
