Healthy sense of humor: A new Let's Move PSA
starring Michelle Obama and Will Ferrell takes the form of a focus group
in which the First Lady and the comedian quiz kindergarteners on their
favorite healthy foods
'What if you guys, for your lunch at school, had a krill oil supplement sandwich,' Mr Ferrell suggests.
And when one little boy eagerly raises his hand to share his favorite vegetable, Mr Ferrell says: 'Let me guess - cabbage?'
'I like to get relaxed too,' he answers.
Focus group: Mrs Obama and Mr Ferrell are joined by an adorable group of youngsters
Funny: The kids are tickled by the comedian's misguided ideas about healthy eating
The children dissolve into giggles - but Mr Ferrell keeps a straight face, asking: 'What's so funny?'
To her credit, Mrs Obama manages to keep a straight face too - even when the comedian asks the children if there is 'one trick to having a great beach bod for the summer.'
Delivering the heart of the Let's Move message, she says: 'It's not about tricks. Getting a good body and staying healthy is about dedication and consistency and eating right.'
Taking it easy: One little girl lounges low in her chair as she volunteers 'bananas' as a favorite food...
...When the camera turns back to Mr Ferrell, he is doing the same. 'I like to get relaxed too,' he answers
This,
Mr Ferrell learns, means he cannot eat a whole honey-glazed ham, nor
can he eat healthy all week only to spend Sundays consuming nothing but
candy.
'You might get sick,' one little girl tells him earnestly.
But it seems his comedic performance was not quite enough for this tough crowd.
When Mrs Obama quizzes the kids on their favorite comedians, not one mentions Mr Ferrell's name - despite some none-too-subtle hints.
